CANOE ANNOUNCES THE START-UP OF THE CARBONIZATION PILOT LINE IN LACQ / Project FORCE

24th September 2018
As part of the project FORCE, which aims at an “economical” carbon fiber with performances adapted to the targeted end use applications the Regional Council of Nouvelle Aquitaine in France, CANOE and the IRT Jules Verne are pleased to announce the launch of a carbonization pilot line in the CANOE building located at CHEMPARC in Lacq.
This pilot line designed and produced by the German Company DIENES APPA-RATEBAU GmbH is co-financed by the Regional Council of Nouvelle Aquitaine, CANOE and the IRT Jules Verne. It is a versatile carbonization line that can process up to 10 x 12K cable in parallel. Its production capacity is about 2 tons per year with a maximum carbonization temperature of 1150 ° C. This line is accessible for services and collaborative projects and will be able to carbonize precursor fibers alternative to the polya-crylonitrile fibers, a reference material used today.
